Studio Policies

The success of the student is my primary goal.  I will use every resource that I have to ensure a positive and educational experience for everybody. One of most important resources is a well-practiced student at every lesson!

I understand that some weeks are better than others for practice.  If it has been a rough practice week, come to your lesson.  We can still get some excellent work done.  If you have had a rough life week, come to your lesson!  We can work on sight-reading easy music for stress relief.  (Trust me, it works!). Maintaining the consistency of lesson day and time is important to building the discipline needed for success.  This sort of work is also great to demonstrate the relaxing benefits of playing an instrument.

The schedule will be created based on availability.  Changes to that schedule may or may not be possible but every effort will be made to accommodate the changing needs of families.  If you need to take a break for an extended period, I cannot guarantee that your scheduled time will still be available.

Once enrolled, there is no need to reenroll for subsequent sessions.  Sessions begin June 1, September 1, December 1 and March 1. Each session covers 3 calendar months.  There are break weeks figured into each session. Please see the studio calendar for those dates. Tuition will be due upon registration and then again by the first day of each subsequent session.  A commitment to a minimum of three months, 1 session, is required.

Lessons missed with at least 24 hours notice can be made up at an agreed upon time.  Lessons missed without notice are forfeited.

Parents are encouraged to enjoy the waiting room.  If you would like to sit in on the lesson, you are welcome to do so but I do ask that interjections be kept to a minimum and that observers refrain from using any loud devices or taking phone calls in the lesson.
